Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Walid al-Muallem affirmed that the so-called Caesar’s Law targets the livelihood of the Syrian people and opened the door again for the return of terrorism as it was in 2011 and that statements by American officials about it confirm that they are a choir of liars because whoever wants the interest of the Syrian people does not conspire against a summit Live it.
Al-Moallem said in a press conference today: I followed what Mike Pompeo and James Jeffrey said about this law and linked it to the interests of the Syrian people. Its predecessors because they use their last weapons against Syria in an attempt to directly target the citizen’s livelihood and the state’s ability to secure its requirements in the sense that the real goal besides starving the people and betting on undermining stability in Syria is opening the door to the return of terrorism as it was since 2011.
Al-Moallem added: This was accompanied by a media scare and a clear psychological warfare by some parties in our region about the effects of this law on Syria and they tried to commercialize it as the final blow to the situation in Syria .. And I do not want to reduce the effects of this law and the fierce campaign that accompanied it, but I say we are in Syria is accustomed to dealing with the issue of unilateral sanctions imposed on us since 1978 under various names … the Syrian Accountability Law … (unilateral economic sanctions) up to this law.
The teacher continued: Therefore, I am confident that dealing with this law will not be impossible, but we are able to meet it by securing the needs of our people and implementing the right demands of citizens to improve their living conditions and obtain a better life, meaning that what we should seek is to turn this law into an opportunity to advance our national economy and achieve Self-sufficiency, deepening cooperation with friends and allies in various fields, and our fight against terrorism will not stop.
Al-Muallem asked: Is the presence of their forces around the Syrian oil fields for the benefit of the Syrian people … Is their planes burning wheat crops in the Jazirah region for the benefit of the Syrian people? Is their threat to friendly countries that want to contribute to the reconstruction of Syria in the interest of the Syrian people? Or it pours on the issue of returning the displaced Syrians to their homeland … not to mention their support for terrorist groups, which is continuous support, as evidence of their planes moving ISIS leaders to safe areas inside Iraq and their support for Turkey in its aggression against Syrian national sovereignty and in its support for organizing the terrorist Nusra Front.
Al-Muallem said: Therefore I say they lie because the target is the Syrian people and I say frankly if they are under the illusion that such unilateral measures are internal measures because they do not have the approval of the United Nations and if they dream that Syria and its people will bow to their terms I say let them dream that this will not happen by the evidence of the sacrifices of the martyrs And the injuries that we presented in order to preserve our independent national decision and our national sovereignty .. The challenges are not easy, but I say not difficult or impossible, and we started procedures that would address these sanctions and in dialogue with our friends and allies who refused to implement this law in order to deepen bilateral relations between us.
Al-Moallem added: In short, what is required by the United States from behind this law and before it several laws is to give up our alliances and our support for the resistance and walk in the normalization process with (Israel) and accept the Israeli plans drawn for the region, led by the so-called (deal of the century).
On the political track, Al-Muallem affirmed Syria’s commitment to it at a time when we reject any American or non-American foreign interference in the work of the constitutional committee, which must be led and owned by Syria without any interference from anyone.
On the Libyan situation, Al-Muallem affirmed Syria‘s support for the national army and Libyan institutions, and its concern for the unity, safety and sovereignty of Libyan lands, and he said: Libya today is a victim of foreign interference and ambitions, foremost among which is the aggressive Turkish aggression of its wealth.
Al-Moallem stressed that Syria also stands with Egypt to support its national security and continues to stand by the Palestinian people. The Israeli occupation plans refuse to annex lands from the West Bank and said: (Israel) must withdraw from all occupied Arab lands.
