Imams of mosques in Hasakah: SDF militia’s siege on locals goes hand in hand with Western blockade imposed on Syria

The preachers and Imams of mosques in Hasakah governorate said that the siege being imposed by the US-backed SDF militia on the cities of Hasakah and Qameshli amounts to a war crime against safe citizens, stressing that it is complementary to the blockade imposed by the countries hostile to Syria with the aim of undermining the steadfastness and principled stands of our people.

In their Friday sermons, the Imams said that the people of Hasakah governorate will not be subjugated by the siege, starvation and ignorance practiced by these militias and will remain steadfast just as the sons of the Syrian governorates were when the terrorist groups besieged them during the past years, noting that the siege ended with a landslide victory for the Syrian Arab army which restored security and safety to the homeland.

The Imam of the Great Mosque in the city of Hasakah, Ahmed Ismail said that a cruel and bitter siege is imposed on the people of the cities of Hasaka and Qameshli, because of their steadfastness and adherence to their national principles, noting that the SDF militiamen closed roads and prevented entry of food, water, fuel, flour and medicine.

He called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to convey the voice of the people to the whole world, shed light on these savage practices, and work to lift the unfair siege.
