The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Lebanon confirmed that all false news and slander that have spread recently in some media and social media about the Russian position regarding what is happening in Syria is an “episode of a misleading tucked series” that is doomed to failure.
In a statement published by the Lebanese National Media Agency, the Russian embassy said: Recently, false news and fabrications were spread in some media and social media networks that affected the Russian position regarding what is happening in Syria. The embassy stressed that such lies have been going on for years and will fail to achieve their goals as they failed before and we do not see a need to clarify the details of the clear facts in response to fabricated news that is distorting the facts and it is better for us and our friends and partners to neglect these falsehoods.
The embassy statement said that the analysts who claim that Russia is considering a trade-off with Americans or Turks at the expense of Syrian sovereignty, they are not only unaware of the reality of the Russian position, but do not realize the nature of the current global situation that requires arranging equal dialogue on issues of international security and strategic stability, stressing that it cannot be arranged like This dialogue without firm attachment to respecting the sovereignty of states … Russia “knows very well the importance of this principle that is always targeted by the owners of the liberal system.”
The embassy added that it is inconceivable that those who possess the minimum level of reason believe that Russia is retreating from the independence of its approach, waiving its commitment to international legitimacy or showing weakness in front of the West and providing an opportunity to advance the forces of hegemony, and that this is impossible to happen.
The embassy concluded its statement by saying that Russia will continue to exercise its independent approach, build and deal on an equal footing in defense of justice and the legitimate rights of peoples in accordance with the Charter and resolutions of the United Nations and do not accept any suspicious suspicious deals or “tempting” proposals at the expense of others.
