The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority asks the cellular companies to pay the sums due to the state treasury amounting to 233,8 billion pounds.

The Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority has informed the cellular companies of the need to comply with the Board of Commissioners‘ decision that includes the payment of monies owed to the state treasury in the amount of 233.8 billion Syrian pounds before the fifth of May next.

In a statement, Sana received a copy of it today, the authority said that the authority informed the cellular companies and set a deadline ending on 5-5-2020 to comply with the decision of the Board of Commissioners, which includes the approval of the results of the work of the committee formed by the Prime Minister’s Resolution No. 1700 dated 19-9-2019, which concluded that Amounts due to the state treasury amounting to 233.8 billion Syrian pounds to restore the balance to the license granted to both companies (Syriatel) and (MTN Syria).

The commission emphasized that in the event of non-compliance with the payment within the specified deadline, the commission will take all necessary legal measures to guarantee the rights of the public treasury.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority is the regulator for the performance of services in the telecommunications sector, and one of its tasks is to lay the foundations and controls for the regulation of the telecommunications sector and issue the necessary decisions for this purpose.
