Global health: It is too early to reduce measures to contain the Corona virus

The European Office of the World Health Organization announced that despite positive indications from some countries regarding the fight against the Corona virus, it is still too early to reduce the measures aimed at containing the virus.

“This is not an appropriate time to ease the measures, but it is a time to redouble our collective efforts two or three times to move towards combating the epidemic with the full support of society,” Agence France-Presse quoted the organization’s director for the Europe region, Hans Klug, as saying at a press conference today.

Hans Klug stressed that the situation in Europe is still “very disturbing” even if some countries of the continent show “positive signs” in the fight against the epidemic, pointing out that some countries, such as Italy and Spain, the two most affected European countries, have begun to show signs of a decrease in the increase in new cases.

Austria, Norway and Denmark announced earlier this week plans regarding measures to confront the virus, during which the restrictions in force will be lifted starting from the middle of this month and gradually.
