People’s Assembly discussed on Monday a report submitted by the constitutional and legislative committees about the draft law on children’s rights.
During a session, chaired by Speaker Hammouda Sabbagh, a number of MPs stressed the importance of the principles established by the draft law in promoting and increasing the level of attention and social and health care for mothers and children and protecting them from exploitation or trafficking in accordance with the rules of laws and legislation and in line with international conventions and laws related to children’s rights.
The state guarantees the protection of motherhood and childhood and gives them special care. It works to create the necessary conditions for the upbringing of the child in an environment that guarantees respect for freedom, human dignity, and moral, social and national values.It works to provide appropriate assistance and supports activities related to childhood issues.
