China on Monday expressed the hope that Ukraine can safeguard the legitimate interests of Chinese enterprises and investors in accordance with law, after reports said Ukrainian president approved sanctions on Chinese companies and individuals who participated in purchasing a Ukrainian company.
Speaking at a press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said, “We have taken note of relevant reports.” He added that China always opposes unilateral sanctions by foreign governments on Chinese companies, and also consistently asks its companies to operate overseas in accordance with law.
