The Ministry of Health indicated that the government has taken a package of measures to support the pharmaceutical industry, including canceling the import ration of 40% of the value of imports, calculating customs duties for materials and supplies of the pharmaceutical industry on the basis of the official exchange rate of 438 pounds to the dollar, and reducing the commissions for transferring the value of imports in foreign currencies by 5%, giving industrialists Competitive price advantages resulting from lower costs.
The ministry indicated in a clarifying statement about the pharmaceutical industries that, while the factories are still allowed to export their medicines after achieving sufficiency in the local market, pointing out that it is not hidden from anyone the size of the difficulties, challenges and destruction that the aggression against Syria has caused, as well as unilateral and coercive illegal measures on the health sector in its various aspects Hospitals, health centers and pharmaceutical industries.
To reduce these difficulties and to alleviate the producers, the Ministry noted that the government has taken a set of measures to support the pharmaceutical sector and secure lost items to achieve health and drug security, including financing imports and requirements for pharmaceutical industries, according to the exchange rate of the Banking and Exchange Bulletin issued by the Central Bank of Syria, which sets the price of the dollar to seven hundred Syrian pounds As of late March and in accordance with the relevant bills submitted by local drug factories.
The ministry asserted in its statement that it is continuing to intensify its supervisory tours of the pharmaceutical factories to follow the commitment to the production and quality of licensed drugs and to find work obstacles to overcome them, as well as pharmacists and drug stores to set any monopoly process for a brand and prevent it from the market and impose deterrent penalties against violators that may reach the closure.
