With the approaching month of Ramadan, domestic trade requires the Syrian trade to secure the needs of citizens at competitive prices

The Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection asked the Syrian Trade Foundation to work to secure all the requirements and needs of citizens for food and non-food items and commodities, especially with regard to the requirements of the Ramadan table at competitive prices and good quality and quality.

In a circular, SANA received a copy of it today, the Ministry called the corporation to secure the aforementioned materials in order to achieve their availability in the markets and prevent any bottlenecks or monopolization of some materials by some weak souls or an unjustified price increase through the corporation’s showrooms in various governorates.

The Ministry stressed the necessity of working to facilitate the display of products of commercial events owners “merchants and importers” within the corporation’s halls, and that the prices of materials and goods displayed be competitive and appropriate for citizens.

In a related context and to ensure stability of the market and prices, the Ministry requested in another circular of the directorates of internal trade and consumer protection in the governorates to conduct a sounding of prices for all materials on a daily basis and to ensure the availability of materials and goods and their flow in the markets in an adequate manner, quality, specification and price determined in the assets.

The Ministry called its directorates to provide it with any emergency on any material and in an immediate manner to treat it in a timely manner and to intensify periodicals at all times of sale, especially in the places and centers of cities and major markets to control prices in them and the conformity of materials and goods to the specifications required by the principles.

The ministry asked the directorates to focus during the first half of the blessed month of Ramadan on the basic materials “vegetables, fruits, meat, bread, dairy products, cheese, grains and juices” and all that relates to the food items that a citizen needs daily, especially with everything related to the Ramadan table and focus during the second half of the month on the material that increases Demand for it, such as “clothing and shoes of all kinds, sweets, candies and citrus.”

The Ministry affirmed the necessity of following up patrolling work and taking the most severe penalties against the negligent, noting the need to take samples from materials suspected of violating the required specifications and conditions, especially the requirements of the month of Ramadan through specific and specialized patrols and tightening control over the circulation of invoices within the rings and stages of the commodity transmission until it reaches the consumer.

The Ministry also requested that all complaints received from citizens be monitored and addressed promptly and around the clock.
