Moscow denies US allegations that it offered Washington to cooperate in developing a vaccine against Corona

Alexei Kuznetsov, Assistant to the Russian Minister of Health, said that the Russian Ministry of Health has not sent any official proposals to the United States for cooperation in joint development of a vaccine against Covid-19.

Earlier, CNN reported, citing unidentified Russian officials, that Moscow had offered to Washington its help in developing a vaccine against Covid-19 disease.

According to these officials, the Russian side offered US administration to implement “unprecedented cooperation, very quickly,” with the aim of speeding up the process of designing a vaccine against the emerging corona virus.

They emphasized that Russia is open to sharing information about the vaccine, which will allow American pharmaceutical companies to produce the Russian vaccine in the United States.

Russian officials stressed that “the US market is currently closed” to Russian medical achievements.

“There is a general feeling of distrust on the American side towards Russia, and we believe that the American side refuses to accept Russian technologies, including vaccines, tests and treatment, because of this lack of confidence,” the American channel quoted a high-ranking official Russian employee as saying.

The Russian official urged the United States to seriously consider accepting the Russian vaccine, because it could save Americans’ lives.

He said, “If our vaccine turns out to be the most effective one, then questions will arise about why the United States has not used this option.”

For their part, American officials told the channel, “The Russian vaccine is considered backward in the United States to the point that it did not arouse serious interest at all.”
