Donor conference participants announce the allocation of 7.4 billion euros for the development and distribution of vaccine and treatment against corona

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Line, announced that the countries participating in the donors conference to finance the development of a vaccine and treatment methods against the emerging Corona virus have pledged to allocate 7.4 billion euros.

“In just a few hours, we made promises to allocate 7.4 billion euros for vaccine development, diagnosis and treatment,” Von der Line said at the end of the conference, held on Monday via a video bridge titled “Global Response to the Corona Virus”.

Von der Line previously announced during the conference that the European Union will allocate 1 billion euros for international efforts to develop a vaccine against the emerging Corona virus, which has so far killed about 250,000 people worldwide.

It was expected that the donor conference, which was organized by the European Union, Britain, Norway, Canada, Saudi Arabia and Japan and which was not attended by the United States, would amount to 7.5 billion euros, which will be spent on expanding tests and developing treatment and prevention against the emerging corona virus.
