The National Seismological Center in Syria announced that a moderate earthquake struck the northern city of Latakia on the Mediterranean coast.
The center said, in a statement, that the tremor had a magnitude of 4.1 on the Richter scale and a depth of 2 km, and that it occurred at 01:37, 34 km north of Latakia.
It is noteworthy that this earthquake is the second to hit Syria on Tuesday, as it hit a slight earthquake measuring 3.3 degrees on the Richter scale and a depth of 11 kilometers, 115 kilometers northwest of the city of Damascus.
The first tremor occurred at twelve and fifty-three minutes Syrian time and is 115 km northwest of the city of Damascus and 31 km northwest of Beirut.
A moderate earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck the Syrian coast with a depth of 20 kilometers and 65 kilometers from the city of Latakia on the third of this month.
