International Flowers Show to kick off in Damascus on July 18

Ministry of Tourism works, in cooperation with Damascus Governorate, to complete preparations for launching the 41st edition of the International Flowers’ Show in Tishreen Park due to be held on July 18th to August 3rd under the slogan of “Sham Jasmine blooms again”.

Director of Damascus Tourism Bassam Martini told SANA’s reporter that the Ministry sent invitations to some Arab countries interested in participating in the show, including Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, and Sudan in order to develop the flower industry in Syria, enhance cooperation, and exchange expertise among the Arab countries in this regard.

Martini added that a number of local producers, companies that deal with equipment for nurseries, beekeepers, the Damask Rose products, medicinal plants and aromatic products will participate in the show, pointing out that the number of participating pavilions reaches up 50 pavilions and 11 green areas that will display a wide range of amaranth flowers and ornamental plants and some complementary industries for the flowers industry and landscaping.

Heritage products for a number of handicraftsmen and some traditional industries related to the flower industry will be showcased, according to Martini, noting that the show supports a group of rural women who work in small enterprises for rural development.
