Arab community in Brazil calls for removing European coercive measures imposed on Syria

Members of the Arab community in Brazil, particularly the Syrian and Lebanese ones, on Tuesday called for lifting unjust coercive economic measures imposed by European countries on Syrian people.

In a message addressed to the EU mission and the papal embassy in Brasilia, Heads of the Islamic and Christian denominations representing the Arab community in Brazil, stressed that unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on the Syrian people violate all heavenly laws which call for the good of mankind everywhere and the noble principles approved by civilized nations and the human rights legitimacy.

They called for conducting a constructive dialogue with the Syrian government based on mutual respect.

The letter also demanded the EU leaders to leave the policy of illegal sanctions and lift the economic coercive measures for human reasons as their continuation will cause a huge humanitarian catastrophe in Syria.
