An earthquake was registered at 4.3 degrees on the Richter Scale hit northeast of Damascus.
Geophysicist Majed Hafez from the National Earthquake Center said in a statement to SANA that the quake occurred at 12:08 a.m. after midnight at local time, and that its center is located about 50 km northeast of Damascus.
Hafez added that the intensity of the quake reached 4.3 on the Richter scale, and its center was determined at 33.723 latitude and 36.898 longitude.
