Heads of EU states urge Turkey to stop interfering in NK

President of the European Council Charles Michel has made that statement at the press conference following the first day of the council meeting in Brussels, TASS reports.

“Every party must play a more constructive role to facilitate de-escalation. We want external interference to stop, it complicates the situation,” he said.

The council’s statement reads that “the European Council urges for immediate cessation of hostilities and calls on the parties to recommit to first ceasefire and peaceful settlement of the conflict.”

“There can be neither military solution to the conflict nor external interference. Azerbaijan and Armenia must begin substantial negotiations without pre-conditions,” the council stated.
