The Russian embassy comments on the US State Department report on Russian “propaganda”

The Russian Embassy in Washington commented on the US State Department report on the Russian media, and considered it an attempt aimed at “obliterating” Moscow‘s proposals on resuming cooperation with the United States.

The Russian diplomatic mission advised the Russian and foreign media “who dared criticize the United States” to bear in mind that it “could definitely become the subject of careful scrutiny” by Washington, and that its websites on American social networks are subject to blocking without explanation.

The embassy said that the US State Department “does not like the existence of alternative sources of information,” adding on its Facebook page that “any voice that contradicts Washington is declared as misleading and serving the Kremlin and Russian intelligence.”

Earlier, the “Global Interaction Center” of the US State Department published a report entitled “The Pillars of Russian Media Misinformation“, which was considered to be part of “Russian propaganda.”

The report mentioned headlines for “Sputnik”, “Novosti”, “RT”, “Channel One” and “Russia 24” and claimed that they all “practice media disinformation,” according to the claim.
