The Iranian Defense Minister, Brigadier General Amir Hatami, reaffirmed his country’s determination to confront any threat targeting its sovereignty and to continue adopting an effective deterrence methodology.
“The rapid regional and global developments put us in front of a changing environment … which requires us to deal with it properly,” Hatami said at a press conference today on the occasion of the country’s defense industries day, pointing out that Tehran’s strategy is based on active defense, as is the case in our confrontation with terrorists.
Hatami indicated that next Friday will witness the unveiling of new products in the defense industries, while new achievements will be announced in the field of missile, air defense, drones, naval forces and battleships over the second half of the current Iranian year.
Hatami explained that one of the advantages of Iran’s defense industries is that it provides more than 90 percent of the country’s needs with local expertise, despite the embargo measures.
