The Minister of Health: There is no interruption to any drug substance … and the government bears the burden of supporting import financing

The Minister of Health, Dr. Nizar Yazigi, confirmed that there is no interruption to any medicinal substance and that there may be an interruption of trade names, but there are alternatives to it indicating that the Ministry licenses a single drug class for several drug factories.

He pointed out that the pharmaceutical items are priced sequentially accordingly, pointing out that 1400 items have been priced so far out of the 11,800 drug groups.

Yaziji explained in a press conference held today that there is no justification for the drug laboratories to stop the production of the medicine indicating that the government bears the burden of supporting the financing of imports of these laboratories from the raw materials and other requirements as its import is funded at a specific preferential exchange rate of 700 Syrian pounds per dollar.

The Minister of Health also emphasized that the unilateral, coercive measures, or the so-called “Caesar’s Law”, affect the Syrian citizen even with the medicine and hinder the rental of medicines for chronic diseases.

The Minister of Health pointed out that registering a Corona virus infection with a condition of contact with one of the arrivals days ago is an indication of the possibility of developing the infections, and this confirms the need to adhere to precautionary measures to address the virus, explaining that there is still patience in the matter of returning Syrians stranded abroad until the completion of procedures related to the Syrians who have returned so far.
