The Syrian Ministry of Health has warned of “recklessness that threatens a wider spread” of infection with the Coronavirus and stressed the commitment to prevention.
The ministry said in a statement that the graphic line of recorded injuries globally, regionally and locally is escalating, and pointed out that the country witnessed 133 injuries at the beginning of this month “most of them are in contact with confirmed cases coming from outside Syria” and therefore stressed the “need to adhere to individual prevention measures today more than any time He went. ”
The ministry called on the Syrians, especially the elderly and the chronic patients, to “avoid the places of crowding as much as possible, as they are more exposed than others to the serious complications of the virus.”
In the statement, the ministry called for “not to contribute to the transmission of rumors or the circulation of information without checking its accuracy and source or exposure to the privacy of patients and their right to the confidentiality of their data” and affirmed its commitment to “publishing any developments related to the epidemic through its local online platforms and the media”.
The ministry pointed to the challenges imposed by the sanctions on Syria and the war damage caused to the health sector, saying that the medical, nursing and technical cadres are exerting “their utmost potential to confront the Corona virus and continue to work with courage and dedication despite the risks that may be exposed to it.”
