Syria: The State Council warns of a fraudulent page impersonating a court and publishing corruption files

The State Council of Syria has warned of a fraudulent Facebook page that it says has its owner impersonate Syria and claims to fight corruption.

The council said on its Facebook page that whoever manages the account “claims to be a judge and puts the emblem of the Council of State, and fights corruption and serves citizens.”

The council specialized in administrative justice and resolving disputes arising between state institutions and individuals added, “The truth is completely different from that. They are people who engage in fraud and abuse the judiciary and judges, and they target the official authorities by defaming and fabricating lies and promoting them as corruption files they are fighting.”

The State Council denied the presence of a judge working for him in the name of “Areen al-Khatib”, calling for caution against “dealing with these persons.”

The Ministry of Health issued a similar clarification yesterday, in which it warned of a fraudulent page bearing the same page name: “The Ministry of Health – Information Office” and called for not to participate in “promoting unreliable news and pages.”

Most of the official Syrian pages lack the blue verification marks provided by social media platforms and confirm the page’s return, and ensure that it is not rigged or impersonated.
