Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, said that his country is facing great problems in securing medical equipment and foodstuffs, due to the tightening of US sanctions on Iran.
During a phone call with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Rouhani expressed his regret over the tightening of the “unfair US sanctions on Tehran and its harsh economic repercussions”, in light of the difficult circumstances against Corona.
The Iranian president said that the United States has always been the first to raise regional tension in the Gulf, adding that it has been working to raise tension since the past weeks in Iraq and the Gulf region.
In turn, the Japanese Prime Minister said that the US sanctions against Iran in the current difficult circumstances are not in the right direction.
During the call, the Iranian President and Japanese Prime Minister discussed combating Corona and regional security, and the two parties stressed the need for all countries of the world to cooperate to confront Corona, and they stressed the importance of exchanging experiences in this field between the two countries.
