Over 300,000 registrants to benefit from the National Social Response Campaign so far

The number of those registered through the digital channel launched by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to benefit from the national campaign for emergency social response as of yesterday reached 305,695 people, including 248530 in the category of unemployed workers as a result of precautionary measures taken to address the Corona virus, 32709 people over seventy years and 24456 with disabilities, according to Report to the ministry.

The ministry indicated in the report that Sana received a copy today that the registration operations through the digital channel succeeded by 90 percent, and that the technical and technical team follows them on a daily basis to address any technical difficulties, while the volunteer work teams help people who are unable to register to enter their data into the digital channel.

The Ministry confirmed that the registrants’ data is verified with respect to the unemployed workers category to ensure their consistency with the criteria of the targeted groups, as the incoming data for the channel from the tourism sector workers are matched with the data of the Ministry of Tourism and the Craftsmen Union, while matching the data of the rest of the workers at the level of each governorate in coordination with neighborhood committees And endorsement by the governor, while data for the elderly and persons with disabilities is recorded through the digital channel and the targeted programs implemented by the ministry or through the disability card.

The ministry stated that a “unemployment allowance” will be disbursed through the National Social Aid Fund after presenting the lists, numbers and results of verification and “the exchange will be gradual for the ready lists.” Noting that the focus in the exchange will be on daily and seasonal workers in the fields of transportation, especially drivers and handicrafts and products Eastern, cement, porters, porters, tour guides, construction workers, and various types of parked tourist facilities, including cafeteria workers, cafes, event lounges, and popular parks.

The ministry had indicated during the official launch of the campaign on the sixteenth of this month that “unemployment allowance” would be for one time and with a maximum of one hundred thousand Syrian pounds for workers whose work was stopped as a result of precautionary measures to address the Corona virus.

On the resources supporting the campaign, the ministry said in its report that a number of NGOs from various governorates have provided cash aid that has so far benefited 650,000 families. The societies have also provided food baskets that have benefited 700,000 families and health baskets that have benefited 300,000 families.

In its report, the Ministry pointed out that a number of international organizations also participated in supporting the campaign with cash contributions, health packages and maintenance of some of the Ministry’s social welfare centers.

It is noteworthy that the cabinet approved on the fifth of this month the national plan for emergency social response in order to mobilize all the efforts of the official authorities concerned and the civil and local community to support the groups and sectors most in need after exploring all the necessary data in coordination with the federations of the concerned chambers and the Federation of Trade Unions and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.
