Russia suspends flights to and from the country

The Russian government decided to suspend all flights to and from the country as of Friday, 27 March, with the exception of flights intended to evacuate Russian citizens to the homeland.

This came as part of a package of decisions to address the emerging epidemic of the Corona virus, which the government announced on its website Thursday morning.

In other steps, the government directed the institutions of the Federal Authority to transfer as many of its employees as possible to operate remotely, and directed the Russian authorities and provinces to suspend the work of trade and entertainment centers and cinemas and prohibited the use of hookah in public places.

On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin put forward a series of social and economic proposals to curb the Corona outbreak in the country.
