The Turkish lira fell slightly against the dollar after a ceasefire agreed upon by Turkey and Russia in the Idlib region in northwestern Syria.
The Turkish currency recorded a level at 6.1155 pounds to the dollar, by 05:39 GMT, compared with Thursday’s close at 6.1080 pounds to the dollar.
On Thursday, an agreement was reached between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish Rajep Tayyip Erdogan for a cease-fire in the Idlib area, after talks in Moscow to contain the crisis there.
