The General Command of the Syrian Armed Forces issued a statement saying that the army “will continue to respond to the attacks of the Turkish occupation forces.” The statement continued that “Turkish attacks will not succeed in protecting armed takfiri terrorism and will not deter the army from pursuing its hostilities in Idlib governorate and western and southern Aleppo to cleanse them of the abomination of armed terrorism in all its names, and restore security and stability to all regions along the Syrian geography.” She explained that “the Turkish regime continues to escalate its aggressive actions and military breaches of the Syrian geography, in contravention of international law and the principle of the sovereignty of independent states, in an attempt to stop the progress of the Syrian Arab army and prevent the collapse of armed terrorist organizations, which are classified on the list of international terrorism, in Idlib and western Aleppo.”
The Syrian army leadership indicated that “the Turkish regime has intentionally thrown new military build-up and intensified its aggression intensively by targeting civilian-populated areas and the military unit’s missile base points, all with a view to assisting terrorists to continue to control the land and take the civilian population hostages and human shields,” And to persist in committing crimes and systematic destruction and controlling the fate of people in the areas where these armed terrorist organizations are based. ”
The General Command of the army stressed: “Our valiant armed forces continue to carry out their constitutional and patriotic duties, and their willingness to respond to the attacks of the Turkish occupying forces, and to carry out their sacred duty to defend the security of the homeland and citizens against the geography of the Syrian state.”
