President Bashar al-Assad received on Friday a cable of congratulation from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, in which he congratulated him on winning the presidential election.
The Belarusian President said that winning the presidential election is an evidence of recognition of the President al-Assad ‘s national role as a national leader who confidently defends his country against foreign interference ,and fights for peace and stability in Syria.
The Belarusian President added that Belarus has been and still a friend to the Syrian people and it will continue to support Syria.
He noted that Belarus attaches great importance to intensifying cooperation between Minsk and Damascus in the political, commercial, economic, humanitarian and cultural fields, pointing to his country’s interest to participate in reconstruction stage in Syria.
President Lukashenko wished President al- Assad good health, strength, steadfastness, and success in work for the good of Syria and its people.
