Russia denies Armenia’s use of Iskander missiles in the Nagorno-Karabakh

April 2nd local time, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Peskov said in an interview with the media that Russia had long confirmed that Armenia had not used Russian-made Iskandar tactical missiles during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Peskov stressed that the Kremlin did not have information about why the debris of Iskandar missile appeared in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

According to the Russian Sputnik Agency, earlier that day, Azerbaijan announced the discovery of the remains of the Iskandar missile in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The Arab side believes that this is exactly the Iskandar missile launched by Armenia during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in autumn 2020.

According to the report, on March 15, the Afghan military found two missile fragments during demining in Shusha city. However, the Arab side did not disclose the specific launch time of the missile, nor did it explain the basis for the conclusion that the missile was launched in autumn 2020. Armenia had previously denied that it had used the missile during the conflict.
