Prime Minster, Hussein Arnous, inaugurated on Saturday Homs-Hama water canal to irrigate 21 thousand hectares of agricultural lands.
The canal has been rehabilitated after 10-year suspension by acts of terrorist organizations.
In a statement to SANA, Director of Water Resources in Homs, Ismail Ismail said that the cost of rehabilitating the canal amounted to more than 1,400 billion Syrian pounds ,adding that the canal will irrigate Homs and Hama plains with a total area of 21,000 hectares.
“The canal irrigates agricultural lands in which more than 50,000 families work, and it enables farmers to invest their lands in a way that contributes to increasing production and improving the livelihood standard of people in the region” Ismail affirmed.
