Tourists evacuated from Taj Mahal after bomb threat

Security forces on Thursday morning evacuated tourists from the Taj Mahal following a bomb threat from an unidentified caller.

The caller claimed that a bomb had been planted to blow up the monument.

Following the call, CISF and local policemen launched search operations inside the monument. Both gates were closed by the ASI officials.

“Police have traced the location of the person who called up the control room and he will be arrested soon,” said SSP.

He added that the person called up from Firozabad.

“Explosives have not been found inside Taj Mahal so far,” said A Satish Ganesh, IG (Agra range).

The IG further said, “It seemed that it was a mischievous call, but we are taking all precautions and the premises will be opened for public soon.”
