Syria, Venezuela discuss bilateral relations

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Miqdad reviewed on Thursday in a telephone conversation with his Venezuelan counterpart Jorge Arreaza friendly relations between Syria and Venezuela.

The two ministers exchanged viewpoints on the ways of enhancing cooperation in all fields to confront the aggressive policies being practiced by the US and western countries against Syria and Venezuela, mainly the adoption of misleading decisions in the United Nations and in some European and American institutes, imposing unilateral coercive measures on the peoples of two countries and supporting terrorist groups in an attempt to destabilize sovereign and independent states and to have hegemony of the resources of these states.

A-Miqdad and Arreaza agreed on strengthening cooperation between the missions of the two countries in international organizations with the aim of mobilizing efforts to confront western policies.

Al-Miqdad referred to the steadfastness of the people of Venezuela in confronting foreign conspiracies, asserting that Syria stands by Venezuela in its efforts to stop all forms of aggression and sieges.

For his part, Arreaza affirmed that his country stands by Syria in fighting terrorism and confronting all attempts that were planned by the US and other western countries against Syria.

He expressed his country’s solidarity with Syria and his belief in Syria’s ability to be rebuilt and to meet the aspirations of the Syrian people.
