The “SDF” militia linked with the US occupation has displaced the owners of houses near the airfield of the occupation helicopters in Gwiran neighborhood by force of arms and issued eviction warnings to the owners of other homes.
The documents and title deeds did not spare the homeowners. They simply found themselves homeless without housing amid the silence of all humanitarian organizations about the crimes committed against the people of Hasakah.
The “SDF militia”, which seeks to empty the civilian areas surrounding the whereabouts of the American occupation forces, previously emptied three storey buildings in Al-Jebsa dwellings located between Ghwiran and Al-Zuhur neighborhoods to the south of the occupation helicopters’ helipad and expelled their residents by force of arms.
The young Mahmoud, a resident of Al-Zuhour neighborhood, pointed out to SANA reporter that the militia began to coerce people in the area extending from the headquarters of the American occupation forces to the Al-Zuhour neighborhood. It closed the road to the neighborhood with dirt mounds,forcing people to travel long distances to reach the city center as well. The militia notified several of the owners of nearby homes to evacuate them. It completely transformed the residential buildings it occupied into military sites to fortify and reinforce the US occupation forces ’presence. It aimed at taking over all the buildings extending from the youth residence to Al-Basil roundabout in Ghwiran neighborhood, which includes government buildings.
The locals believe that the practices and violations of “SDF militia” are not much different from the attacks of the Turkish occupation mercenaries in Ras Al-Ain in the northwestern countryside of the governorate. They are practicing a policy of displacement and forcing the people to leave their property, displace and seize it to use it for military purposes. The locals call on all special authorities and relief and humanitarian organizations to intervene and stop these crimes against civilians in the region. They said that “these actions represent violation of the law and all international norms which the militia doesn’t recognize and which seeks to implement US plans to permanently empty the region of its original inhabitants.
Due to this reality and to practices of SDF militia, fear dominated the rest of the people in the nearby youth housing area, as they expected the militia to expel them from their homes to turn it into a military zone or to house the families of their armed men. It is noteworthy that the youth housing includes dozens of families coming from other governorates and from Hasakah countryside.
During the past months, the militia forced the people to evacuate the homes in the Ghwiran and Salhiya neighborhoods. It assaulted the homeowners and kidnapped a number of them. It also seized a group of private homes in the Nazareth and al-Ma’ishiyya neighborhoods and a number of houses in Sharia housing in the western al-Nashwa neighborhood. SDF militia is working to implement instructions of American occupation and forcing the people to work with them within the framework of the plans prepared by the American occupier for the region.
