The head of the “Tunisia Forward” movement, Abid al-Braiki, described Ghannouchi’s call for a “coup.”
Al-Briiki said in a post on his Facebook page: “Ghannouchi, who was elected by a few thousand with corrupt money, according to the Court of Accounts, calls for a coup against a president who was elected by nearly 3 million voters,” referring to the President of the Republic, Qais Saeed.
He added, “This is Ghannouchi, the main supporter of a legitimate government.”
The “Free Constitutional Party” bloc in parliament, in a statement issued on Saturday, called on all parliamentary blocs representing progressive forces, and “deputies who are jealous of their homeland” to what it called “an uprising against the dictatorship of violence, discrimination and chaos practiced by Parliament Speaker Rashid Ghannouchi with the help of his entourage and arms. “.
The bloc called for “close ranks with the aim of saving the country from the real danger that awaits it in light of this destructive policy, and to expedite the signing of the petition to withdraw confidence from Rashid Ghannouchi, and to remove him from the sovereign decision center that he employs to implement the scheme to consecrate social stampede and strike national unity,” as she put it.
