Minister of Information, Imad Sarah, discussed on Wednesday with official spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Saeed KhatibZadeh and an accompanying delegation, means of enhancing bilateral relations between both countries, particularly in the field of media and culture.
During the meeting, Minister Sarah stressed the importance of press cooperation to confront the media war that targets the two countries and distorts facts and concepts.
The Minister pointed out to the need for raising the level of Syrian-Iranian relations in the media and cultural sectors to confront some campaigns that seek to harm mutual relations.
He said that Syria, which has defeated terrorism through the bravery of its people and army, steadfast leadership and support for its friends, is able today to confront the economic terrorism.
For his part, KhatibZadah, who is also head of the Center for Public Diplomacy and Information, said that the countries which launched the terrorist war on Syria failed to achieve their goals through the field war and turned into an economic and media war to “tighten the noose around the Syrian people and mislead public opinion.”
In a statement to reporters, KhatibZadeh described his meetings with Foreign and Expatiates Minister and Information Minister as “constructive” that focused on the unjust US sanctions against the resisting Syrian people.
The Iranian official affirmed his country’s continued support for the government and people of Syria.
