Haiti thwarted coup attempt … and the president escaped an assassination attempt

The Ministry of Justice in Haiti announced that it had thwarted a “coup attempt” against President Juvenil Moise, who in turn announced that he had evaded an assassination attempt.

According to the French newspaper Le Figaro, Justice Minister Rockefeller Vincent explained that this “coup attempt” was attended by a judge of the Court of Cassation and an official in the National Police, indicating that the country’s prime minister is in crisis.

He also pointed out that 23 people were arrested, including the judge of the Court of Cassation and the Inspector General of the National Police. For his part, President Moss announced that he had escaped an “assassination attempt.”
