The Agricultural Sector Development Forum (Challenges and Opportunities) on Wednesday started activities under the slogan (Towards a Developmental and Competitive Agricultural Economy) at Ebla Al-Sham Hotel in Damascus Countryside, in the presence of Prime Minister Eng. Hussein Arnous
The opening will be followed by four dialogue sessions, as the first session will revolve around the roles and responsibilities “governance of the agricultural sector in Syria” while the second one will focus on the problems, challenges and prospective opportunities.
The third session will tackle the rural development and the economics of developmental projects and the natural resources of agriculture, forests, and al-Badia “semi- desert”, while the fourth session will deal with aspects of agricultural support and directing it to serve farmers, consumers and systems, followed in managing agricultural production chains and evaluating their performance.
On the sidelines of the opening, an exhibition of modern and developed machinery and equipment, renewable energies, and specialized workshops in the fields of plant and animal production, rural development, natural resources, marketing and agricultural economy will be held over a period of 25 days.
