A group of Russian ships heading to the shores of Oman after maneuvers with the Iranian fleet

The spokesman for the Russian Baltic Sea Fleet, Roman Martov, announced that the ships of the fleet completed a joint Russian-Iranian naval exercise program in the Arabian Sea, and headed for the shores of Oman.

Martov said during a press conference: “A group of ships belonging to the Baltic Fleet ended maneuvers with the Iranian Navy, and at the end of which pictures were taken of the participating ships, and then a farewell party for our ships was held.”

He pointed out that the exercises took place on the 15th and 16th of this month in the Gulf of Oman and the northwestern Indian Ocean, where sailors were trained to hit surface targets, and they exchanged signals during the day and night, and joint exercises were conducted, and the crews were trained to free a merchant ship hijacked by pirates and other exercises.

The Baltic Fleet ship group consisting of the “Stoike” cruiser, the “Kola” medium tanker and the “Yakov Grybelsky” locomotive, embarked on a long voyage that began on December 16, 2020.
