US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin affirmed that the recent cyber attacks affected the open systems of the ministry, and that “there is no data on corruption or theft of a large amount of information.”

He said in an interview with the American “CNBC” channel: “At this stage, we have not witnessed any breach of our secret systems, our open systems have been accessed, but I say that the good news is that we have not recorded any real damage, nor have we seen a breach or theft of many the information”.

He added, “The attack took place through a third-party program.”

And it was announced earlier, about a widespread penetration of hackers in the United States through the software company “SolarWinds”, as the US authorities believe that government agencies were the main targets of the attack.

And US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accused Russia of participating in widespread cyber attacks on government administration systems in the United States.

In turn, US President Donald Trump said: “It is not Russia, but China may be behind the pirate attack on a number of American administrations,” stressing that “the size of the cyber attack is exaggerated in the media.”
