France to ban all travel and freight from Scotland for at least 48 hours

Scots are set to be banned from travelling to France after the French Government has announced it is banning all travel and freight from the UK.

The suspension is expected to take effect from 11pm.

They stated that the time will be used to work on a new testing plan with EU partners before reopening once one had been agreed.

The decision from France follows a series of similar steps taken by other European countries earlier on Sunday.

The Netherlands has forbidden all flights from the UK for the rest of the year at least.

Meanwhile in Italy, foreign minister, Luigi Di Maoi, also announced restrictions on UK travellers.

Belgium’s prime minister has imposed a ban, but only for 24 hours.

Austria and the Czech Republic were also imposing new measures against UK flights with Prague announcing stricter quarantine rules with all people arriving in the country having spent at least 24 hours in UK territory required to self-isolate.

Meanwhile, Germany is also considering limiting flights from Britain, the dpa news agency reported on Sunday.
