Egyptian, Greek naval forces carry out joint drill in Aegean Sea

Units from the Egyptian and Greek navies have carried out a maritime drill in the Aegean Sea, which is part of efforts by the Egyptian Armed Forces’ general command to reinforce the exchange of expertise with the armed forces of friendly countries.

According to an official statement released by the Egyptian military spokesman on Monday, the drill was carried out as the Egyptian naval units were on their way back after concluding another joint naval drill (Bridge of Friendship-3) with the Russian navy in Russian territorial waters.

The Egyptian and Russian navies wrapped up on Thursday the joint drill, which kicked off on Monday in the Black Sea.

The Egyptian-Greek drill included sailing formations and transportation to enhance maritime security measures in the Mediterranean and achieve compatibility between both countries’ fleets in carrying out combat missions as per international rules, the statement added.
