Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Salwa Al-Abdullah, discussed with Philip Lazarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees(UNRWA) on Tuesday, ways to overcome the difficulties facing the implementation of the Agency’s program in Syria and meeting the needs of Palestinian refugees.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Abdullah pointed out that the terrorist war on the country and the conspiracy to which Syria is exposed are the same forces and conspiracy that displaced the Palestinian citizens.
She expressed confidence in the ability of UNRWA to continue working and providing services for Palestinian refugees despite all the difficulties and financial pressures it is exposed to.
For his part, Lazarini clarified that the aim of the visit is to learn about the Palestinians refugee situation in Syria where the number of citizens who benefit from UNRWA services in the field of health, education and social safety is 440,000 who also suffer, as well as the Syrian citizens, from difficulties of the war and the economic circumstances and challenges imposed by the Corona epidemic too.
