Speaker of the people’s Assembly, Hammouda Sabbagh, affirmed the importance of developing Parliamentary relations between Syria and Cuba and enhancing them and exchanging expertise and visits between members of the Syrian Peoples’ Assembly and the National Assembly of people’s power in Cuba.
Sabbagh, during a meeting with Cuban Ambassador in Damascus, Miguel Porto Parga, referred to the unilateral coercive western measures imposed on the peoples of the two countries which aim to break their will and to target their decision, warning of the danger of false slogans raised by the US under different names.
For his part, the Cuban Ambassador reiterated his country’s support to Syria, as people and leadership, in confronting terrorism and the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the country.
Cuban Ambassador cleared that he will continue to work on enhancing relations between his country and Syria, confirming on no one can get of the Syrian; Cuban unit stance against deferent cases.
Sabbagh received a letter from the Ambassador sent by the President of the National Assembly of People’s Power in Cuba.
The letter expresses support for Syria in the face of terrorism that targets the unity and territorial integrity of the country.
