More than 70 rockets hit northwestern Iran today in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Aliyar Rastgoo, the political and security deputy governor of East Azerbaijan, said on Wednesday: “The rockets hit several villages in Khodaafarin city, but fortunately they have not caused any casualties.”

Rastgoo stated that from the beginning of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict until today, a total of 68 rockets had hit the border areas of Iran, adding: “Only today, 71 rockets have hit the city of Khodaafarin.”

The political and security deputy governor of East Azerbaijan stressed: “Legal measures have been taken by the Iranian border forces and the parties involved in the Nagorno-Karabakh war have been given a serious warning to prevent such incidents.”

The Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia disagree on the Nagorno-Karabakh region; The two countries’ dispute over the Nagorno-Karabakh region began in 1988.

A new round of clashes began on September 27, and so far a number of forces on both sides have been killed or wounded.
