France has been told it is at war with an enemy “within and without” and to expect more Islamist attacks, as police arrested a man with links to a Tunisian who murdered three people at a church in Nice.
As the country absorbed the shock of the latest gruesome attack on its soil, Gérald Darmanin, the interior minister, said: “We are in war against an enemy that is both inside and outside. We need to understand that there have been and there will be other events such as these terrible attacks.”
