The director of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, called on governments to dialogue with those demonstrating against wearing masks.
He stressed the need to remind the opponents that the virus is “real” and “killing”, and he also called on protesters to adhere to hygiene procedures, physical distancing and putting masks even during demonstrations.
Commenting on the anti-masks protests, which took place last week in Germany and elsewhere, he told the media: “We have to listen to what people are asking and what they say. We must engage in an honest dialogue.
He added: “But at the same time, I would like to tell the people who protested last week, that the virus is real. it’s dangerous. It spreads quickly and kills, and we must do everything to protect ourselves and others. ”
And given that the possibility of a second wave of the epidemic, fueling fears of further lockdown measures in Europe and elsewhere, anger is increasing among supporters of easing restrictions to curb the outbreak of the new Corona virus.
In Germany, an attempt was made to storm Parliament during an anti-restrictions rally this weekend.
