South African International Relations Minister Nalidi Bandur described Washington’s allegations that Iran was planning to assassinate US Ambassador Lana Marks as very strange.
Nalidi said in an interview with the local SABIC News network: “It was a very strange public allegation, and of course our friends in Iran are as surprised as we are .. I find that surprising .. Why does Iran, a very good friend of South Africa, come and commit a horrific act in our country and of this kind … I can only help He described it as strange and let me stop there. ”
“We have confirmed to them through the statement of the Minister of State Security, Ayanda Dludlu, that South Africa believes that our diplomats are safe,” she added.
On Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatib Zadeh confirmed Iran’s categorical denial of the accusations contained in this malicious report, calling on American officials to stop repeating outdated methods to create an atmosphere hostile to Iran on the international scene.
