Arnous inspects areas subjected to fires in Hama western countryside

Prime Minister Hussein Arnous, heading a governmental delegation, on Saturday inspected the areas which were exposed to fires in Hama western countryside.

Arnous’ tour aimed at getting acquainted with the damage left by the fires in those areas and following up the situation of the local there.

The Prime Minister and the governmental delegation visited Ayn Jourin-Slinfa water pumping station that feeds about 70 towns and villages in the governorates of Hama and Lattakia near which the fires spread and were extinguished later by the fire brigades with the support of Syrian Arab Army personnel, internal Security and Law Enforcement forces.

Arnous also visited the medical point in Freika in al-Ghab area which was provided by additional medical cadres during the periods of fires to offer the treatment and health services to locals along with fire brigades when needed and around the clock.

During a meeting with the firefighters and Al-Ghab woods cadres in Shatha, Arnous stressed that the government will compensate what the forest resources have lost due to the fires through intensifying the afforestation plans in the damaged areas.

The delegation after that visited a number of Syrian Arab Army’s points in Al- Hailounah, Al-Laqba and Ayn Shams whose members participated along with firefighters in controlling the fires erupted in Hama western countryside.

During his tour, Arnous listened to the locals’ demands and needs regarding the agriculture process and the damages affected their properties.

He underlined the continued work to reactivate the agriculture sector and securing the necessary support for the farmers and peasants to enable them continue the productivity process.

Arnous provided financial rewards to all personnel of the army and firefighters who participated in controlling the fires, hailing their exceptional and intense efforts exerted to put out the fires over the past days.

Arnous conveyed President Bashar Al-Assad’s greeting and love to the firefighters, Civil Defense and Syrian Arab Army personnel and Internal Security Forces along with the locals who managed to extinguish the fires broke out in the forest mountains in Misyaf and Al-Ghab over the past days.

In Hazour municipality, the Premier discussed the means of work to take pre-emptive measures that curb fires outbreak, boost the measures to confront them and to alleviate the loses in preservation of the forest resources.

The governmental delegation included Ministers of Local Administration and Environment, Interior and Agriculture.
