Words from the depths of the nationalist Arabist professor, Duried Lahham, about the Beirut explosion

I couldn’t find in the Arabic language dictionaries words that express the extent of our grief in Syria and we were affected by what happened in Beirut and we were contented, with tears that burn our eyes

We hope, as we pray, that from the results of this devastating and oppressive explosion that the springs of love explode between all components of the Lebanese people, their sects, and political parties, so that they will be one hand in the pain of the hurricanes that surround Lebanon in order for Lebanon to return to the country of goodness, love, culture, history and steadfastness.

The port of love Beirut rises again like a phoenix from the midst of the rubble, thanks to the arms of its sons

And to be as she was the bride of the Mediterranean, the place of lovers and the place of cultures

Peace to you, Lebanon, and peace to you, Beirut, all our constant love and all our pain today
