India’s Modi set to visit temple site despite minister having COVID-19

The number of Corona virus infections in India has risen to 1.8 million, after 52,972 new infections were recorded during the past 24 hours.

Ministry of Health data showed that 771 new deaths were recorded, raising the number of deaths in the world’s second most populous country to 38,135.

In China, the National Health Commission announced that 43 new cases of the virus had been registered on the mainland yesterday, after 49 cases had been reported a day earlier.

Among the new cases, the commission said, there are 36 local cases, 28 of which are in Xinjiang, while the other seven are people from abroad.

The committee noted that the total number of injuries on the mainland was 84,428, while the number of deaths at 4634 remained unchanged.

In South Korea, 23 new cases were announced, bringing the number of injuries in the country to 14,389, while no further deaths were confirmed, leaving them at 301.

In Germany, data from the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases showed an increase in the number of infections by 509 cases to 210,402, in addition to recording seven deaths, bringing the total to 9,148 cases.
