Cuban Foreign Minister: The United States government is a threat to peace

the U.S. government is a threat to peace, Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla said Wednesday on Twitter.

Rodriguez Parrilla affirmed that coercive measures are imposed on nations that defend their sovereignty and do not surrender to the interests of the American country.

On many occasions, Cuba has denounced Washington’s attempt to choke its economy, demonstrated in recent months by the tightening of the economic, commercial and financial blockade that the United States has imposed over Cuba for almost six decades.

The most recent attack, and in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, was the addition of seven companies to the so-called blacklist of more than 200 entities and sub-entities banned to Americans.

Beyond the economic scope, in recent months the White House has reinforced the campaign to discredit the humanist essence of Cuban medical cooperation, with the aim of undermining the work of the 45 brigades of the Henry Reeve contingent that Cuba has sent abroad to support other governments in the fight against the pandemic.

It is noteworthy that Havana, as part of its cooperation in confronting the Corona epidemic in the world, has so far sent 38 medical brigades to 31 countries in Europe, America, Africa and the Middle East, and among these, a group of 52 aid workers who encountered the Corona virus returned in the northern region of the Lombardy province, the epicenter of the virus outbreak in Italy.
